Cleveland Plain Dealer, November 3 2020: The sale has closed on 377 acres of the former Geauga Lake amusement park that adjoins the Rivers Edge Development. The area which will be dubbed “The Geauga Lake District” will include retail, restaurant and office space in addition to 300 housing units.

Chagrin Valley Today, October 2, 2020: Bainbridge Township and the City of Aurora have settled on the Geauga Lake Joint Economic Development District. This paves the way for mixed-use development of about 250 acres the former Geauga Lake property. Plans for development include residential units, commercial use and 97 acres of parkland. The Geauga Lake property totals about 650 acres.

Chagrin Valley Today September 3, 2020 – Officials from Aurora and Bainbridge Township are starting to take strides toward an agreement for the rest of the Geauga Lake property. Bainbridge Township Trustees have set a date for Sept 28 at 7:30pm for a public hearing on a joint economic development district (JEDD) for the former Geauga Lake property.

Chagrin Valley Times, July 16/17, 2020 – After months of meetings with the City of Aurora about a joint economic development district, known as a JEDD, the township trustees said they are optimistic about potential development opportunities on the Geauga Lake property. The trustees announced that the final paperwork for the JEDD has been submitted to Aurora.
Industrial Commercial Properties, LLC of Solon was under contract to purchase 276 acres of the property from Cedar Fairs and submitted variance requests to allow heavy retail and multi-family dwelling apartments with first floor residential use.

Chagrin Valley Today, Aug 15, 2019 – Aurora council will examine a proposal by Pulte Homes for home, commercial and office development on the former Geauga Lake land. The city’s Planning Commission voted unanimously to approve the conceptual plan on August 7.
