Bainbridge and Aurora closer to Geauga Lake JEDD – CVT 09032020

Chagrin Valley Today September 3, 2020 – Officials from Aurora and Bainbridge Township are starting to take strides toward an agreement for the rest of the Geauga Lake property. Bainbridge Township Trustees have set a date for Sept 28 at 7:30pm for a public hearing on a joint economic development district (JEDD) for the former Geauga Lake property.

Bainbridge hopeful for JEDD with Aurora at Geauga Lake property – CVT 07-16-2020

Chagrin Valley Times, July 16/17, 2020  – After months of meetings with the City of Aurora about a joint economic development district, known as a JEDD, the township trustees said they are optimistic about potential development opportunities on the Geauga Lake property.  The trustees announced that the final paperwork for the JEDD has been submitted to Aurora.

Industrial Commercial Properties, LLC of Solon was under contract to purchase 276 acres of the property from Cedar Fairs and submitted variance requests to allow heavy retail and multi-family dwelling apartments with first floor residential use.

Pulte discusses parklands around proposed development on former Sea World site – CVT 7-4-2019

Chagrin Valley Today, July 4 2019 – Pulte officials met with Aurora City officials to discuss further details of the their proposed mixed-use development on the former Sea World site adjacent to the Geauga Lake Amusement park and next to the River’s Edge Community.  Pulte said the plans include about 112 acres of parkland surrounding the homes and commercial development as well as medical and professional offices off Squire Road.

Residents question Pulte plan’s density of houses, impact on schools

Chagrin Valley Today: More about the Pulte development plan for Cedar Fair property. Aurora residents have expressed concerns about the environmental impact, concentration of houses and possible effect on the school district at a presentation by Pulte at the city Planning Commission on their plans for development of some of the former Sea World site.  Read more about it here.

Pulte has proposed a conceptual development plan with 321 homes, offices, retail stores and walking paths on about 247 acres of the former Cedar Fair property.  Read post.
