Meijer deal reached for Geauga Lake District

Chagrin Valley Times, October 12, 2023. Five years after abandoning plans to build a store at the former Geauga Lake District, Meijer’s plans are back on. The store will be a standard Meijer “supercenter” of approximately 160,000 square feet. However, no build date has been set yet.

CVT July 24 2023 – Plans for a Meijer superstore in the Geauga Lake property are back in play. Bainbridge Township trustees recently approved Meijer Geauga Lake’s final development plan which incorporates nostalgic elements reflecting the heritage of the amusement park.

Aurora Plans for Geauga Lake

The City of Aurora is planning to buy Geauga Lake and 40 acres of lakefront land that was once the SeaWorld property in what the city is calling “the opportunity of a lifetime”.

Plans are still being finalized but the vision is to redevelop the property into a public park.

Bainbridge Township Save the Dates 2023

Notable dates in 2023 for Bainbridge Township can be viewed in this flyer. Household trash such as old computers, electronics, furniture, grills etc can be dropped off at the Bainbridge Service Department Auxiliary lot from May 1 – 6 (7:30 am to noon) – Bainbridge residents only. More details are in the flyer.

Seniors can arrange for their household trash to be picked up May 1 – 3 (8:00am to 2:30pm). Senior MUST be registered by the Geauga County Departments of Aging to be placed on the pick up list. The deadline to register is April 24. See flyer for details on how to register.

Thank you to all those households here in River’s Edge who renewed or joined the neighborhood association, River’s Edge Commons, Inc. (RECI). And, a special thank you to those households who joined the Association by the June 1 “early bird” deadline.

New Development at Geauga Lake

Chagrin Valley Today, February 10, 2022 – Development is underway by Vision Development Inc on the site of the former Geauga Lake property. It will bring the first complex devoted to apartments in Bainbridge Township. The overall development is expected to eventually also include offices and restaurants.
